Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka reveals the teammate that has helped him the most in his career | 101 Great Goals

Saka shines

Bukayo Saka only turned 20 in September, but is already an integral part of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side and an England regular under Gareth Southgate.

The winger has racked up 102 appearances for the Gunners, as well as 14 caps for England since making his Three Lions debut in October 2020, and yet remains in only the early stages of what threatens to be a very successful career.

However, he has had some help along the way.

Saka reveals biggest influence

Now, in a recent interview with Sports Bible, Saka was asked which player had the biggest impact on his career to date, and he opted for an odd choice.

The man in question? David Luiz.

The maligned Brazilian left the Gunners in the summer after 2 years at the club, but has had a lasting imprint on the youngster, Saka revealed.

The 20 year-old said:

“I’ve had a lot of help from a lot of different players but I would say probably the biggest impact – probably David Luiz.

“He has done the most for me in my career, to go into the first team was obviously not always the easiest experience but, and I think if you say this to all of the young players at Arsenal, [they’d say] David done so much.

“He went out of his way to do a lot for us – advice on and off the pitch, yeah he was a really good guy but there has been loads of other players at Arsenal of course, but I’d probably say David.”

Will the Gunners miss Luiz’s experience in the dressing room?
