Newcastle are interested in the services for FC Barcelona and France star, Ousmane Dembele, according to reports stemming from Spain.
Newcastle need to spend?
Eddie Howe was named as Newcastle’s new head coach earlier this month.
Howe joins the club facing the mammoth task of keeping the North East outfit in the top-flight.
And at present, that seems pretty unlikely after 12 games of the campaign. Newcastle are dead bottom of the PL table and are the only side in the division yet to pick up a single win this term.
Newcastle also have the joint-worst defences in the Premier League at present, conceding 27 in 11.
Given the size of the task facing Howe, it seems imperative that Newcastle spend well in the upcoming January transfer window.
And Howe is seemingly being backed to do so, with it reported that the former Bournemouth man would have £50m to spend in the winter market, as well as bringing in some players on loan.

Newcastle eyeing Ousmane Dembele
Now, one potential target of the North East outfit appears to have been revealed recently.
As per the Mirror citing Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Dembele has received ‘an astronomical proposal’ from Newcastle:
Dembele has received ‘an astronomical proposal’ from the Magpies, who are reportedly willing to offer him over a staggering €15million (£12.6m) per season on top of the same fee as a tempting signing on bonus.
Dembele is, of course, currently out of action and has played just two games all season because of injury. And with the 24-year-old out of contract next year, perhaps Barca may be wise to sell the winger now, rather than losing him for free in the summer?
