Man City must seal Bukayo Saka transfer

Manchester City secured a deal for one of Europe’s top talents last month when they announced that Erling Haaland would be making the move to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Another exciting young talent who is currently playing for one of world football’s top clubs is Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr.

The Citizens came face to face with the Brazilian during the two Champions League clashes against Carlo Ancelotti’s side in late April and early May. In the first leg of the semi-final, the 21-year-old scored against Pep Guardiola’s side, which ultimately helped the Spanish giants reach the final, where he then scored the winning goal against Liverpool.

Now that City have ended the season with another Premier League title but still no luck in the Champions League, the summer transfer window could give the club and Guardiola the chance to sign their own version of the Brazil starlet.

Earlier this month, it was reported that City are interested in signing Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka, who has Vinicius included on a list of similar players to the Gunners star according to Football Transfers.

A product of the north London club’s youth system, the 20-year-old has made 183 appearances for the Gunners across their youth and senior teams. In that time, the Englishman – who is valued at around £100m by CIES – has found the net 45 times and delivered 46 assists in the process.

Would you take Saka at Man City?

Yes

No

No

Labelled an “exciting” player by Gary Lineker on Twitter in the past, Saka was Arsenal’s shining light during their latest Premier League campaign, with more goal contributions (18) than any other player in Mikel Arteta’s squad.

With Vinicius racking up 22 goals and 20 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions for the European champions in 2021/22, he and Saka have both shown just how capable they are when it comes to scoring and creating goals for their respective teams.

While it would be safe to assume that Arsenal would rather not see their youthful star leave the club, especially to join a Premier League rival, City should definitely do all they can to try and convince the England international to make a move to the Etihad Stadium this summer.
