Manchester United is amidst a summer of upheaval and restructuring under new boss Erik ten Hag as the Red Devils look to get back on track in their attempt at pushing for major honors, and could turn to German international David Raum as one of their first summer signings.
As reported by both Sky Germany as well as Bild, Raum looks set to make the jump to a bigger club this summer after having a breakout first season in the Bundesliga with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim where he scored three goals and added an impressive thirteen assists in 32-league appearances.
Raum had earned his move to Sinsheim after a 2020-21 2.Bundesliga season which saw him bag 15-assists for Greuther Fürth, and his star has quickly risen in Germany to the point where he is now an international regular under Germany boss Hansi Flick.
Update #Raum: Transfer this summer more than likely. He wants to make the next step. Top clubs of the Premier League are interested. 5-8 clubs want him. #MUFC is one of them. Dortmund as well. No release clause. Transfer fee around €30-35m! @SkySportDE #TransferUpdate 🟨🇩🇪

Interest in Raum is high and United will be made to fight tooth and nail for his services according to the reliable Florian Plettenberg, however, with up to eight clubs potentially viewing Raum as a summer transfer candidate, including Premier League rivals Newcastle United as well as German giants Borussia Dortmund.
United would be made to pay somewhere in the region for ~£30million for the 24-year-old Nürnberg-native, and any deal for the German could throw into question whether or not Luke Shaw will have a vital role to play under Ten Hag.
Frustratingly, United has struggled to secure any deals this summer thus far despite the outgoings at Old Trafford, and there is increased angst surrounding interest in Barcelona midfielder Frankie de Jong.
Though Raum would not be a replacement for any key player that has departed this summer, a deal for a talented player in his mold would go a long way for the United fanbase to gain confidence in the new project.
