Wolves target Lewis-Potter set to join Bees

Wolves look set to miss out on another transfer target, with reports suggesting that Hull City winger Keane Lewis-Potter is set to join Premier League rivals Brentford.

What’s the word?

Wolves were one of several top-flight clubs said to be interested in signing the exciting winger after his superb performances in the Championship last season.

However, it is the Bees who have won the race for the 21-year-old, as Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Twitter earlier this week.

He revealed: “Brentford are set to sign Keane Lewis Potter from Hull City. Agreement in place between clubs, and personal terms also agreed. Deal expected to be announced this week, pending medical.”

Supporters will be gutted

Considering the lack of transfers at Molineux so far this summer, Wolves supporters will surely be disappointed to hear that they have missed out on another target, especially one with as much ability and potential as Lewis-Potter.

The England under-21 international was in excellent form for Hull last season, featuring in every game for the Tigers as they comfortably maintained their second-tier status.

Are you gutted to miss out on Lewis-Potter?

Yes

No

No

Lewis-Potter’s 12 goals and three assists were a big part of that, while he was also vital as they won promotion in 2020/21, hitting 13 goals en route to the League One title.

Bruno Lage’s side were among the lowest scorers in the Premier League last time around, and attacking additions are a must this term if they are to improve on their end-of-season form which saw them slide down the table, as the Old Gold took just two points from their final seven matches.

Former Hull manager Grant McCann was full of praise for Lewis-Potter back in 2020 and predicted his rise, saying: “The kid’s a special talent. Wherever we play him across that frontline, he’ll create and score goals. He can be anything he wants to be. He’s quick, he’s getting stronger.

“If you see him physically now compared to where he was this time last year, he’s head and shoulders above in terms of his physique. He’s got all the tools to be anything he wants.”

Therefore, Wolves fans will no doubt be gutted that they have missed out on the £20m-valued winger, who now looks set to take the Premier League by storm in the coming years.
